 About CAROL

*****Carol, a primary Sunday School teacher for more than 14 years, began using small hand puppets in her grade two Sunday school class. She noticed the impact they had on the children and how they were effective teaching tools. They captured a child’s attention and aided in helping them to remember stories and songs. Her collection of small hand puppets became recurring classroom characters and began to multiply faster than the loaves and fishes! Then one day, she was introduced to the magic of rod-arm puppetry. There was no turning back! Script-writing, choreography and prop design became a whole new lifestyle! Carol has been co-director of Puppets4Him for more than 15 years and enjoys teaching and performing for young and old alike. In fact, many of Carol's former grade two Sunday School students have become puppeteers as teenagers and they have worked along side each other in children's ministry!

Carol is employed as an administrative and accounting assistant at the Manitoba Law Society in downtown Winnipeg. When she’s not doing something puppet related, she’s engaged in her other passions: volunteering in her daughter’s school, scrapbooking or taking photos.

About MARLOWE

Marlowe began his "puppet career" by carrying boxes for his then girlfriend, Carol, to her Sunday school class! Little did he realize that these boxes would multiply, end up in his basement and that it would lead to a major basement renovation to accomodate them all! Co-director of Puppets4Him for over 15 years, Marlowe has developed the character of "Tyler" who makes many appearances during performances. During a hiatus from team ministry, Marlowe took up an interest in ventriloquism and has since been performing with his sidekicks, Marvin, Grandpa Chester, Theo the churchmouse and the recently arrived, Dudley the sheep.

Marlowe graduated from Winnipeg Bible College (now Providence College) in 1991 with a Bachelor of Theology (Hons) degree. He was involved in lay ministry at church mainly with the children and youth, in such programs as Sunday School and camp. Following ten years in the wholesale auto auction business and another five years in print and internet advertising, Marlowe joined the Pastoral team at Calvary Temple in 2004.  He now serves the community of Calvary Temple as Creative, Child and Family Pastor.
